Mastering Fabric Selection ( 5-week class)
You’ll get hands on experience by selecting fabrics for a series
of “little quilts” that you will be piecing throughout the classes. This course will teach you:
- How to use a color wheel to help you in selecting a color scheme
- The role neutral fabrics play in your color choices
- The importance value plays in enhancing the quilt pattern
- How to use context to help you mix colors
- The nature of fabric and which fabrics are most helpful to you
- Fabric styles and how to mix fabric patterns
- Sources of inspiration for color and fabric selection
- How to build a stash with fabrics you will love and use
- How to confidently pull fabrics for your next quilt project.
This course is for confident beginners and experienced quilters. The four quilts you will be
making are from Laundry Basket Quilts “Little Handfuls of Scraps” by Edyta Sitar. The largest
quilt is 13”x17” with pieces as small as 1”. These quilts are so much fun to piece, so brush up
on your scant quarter inch seam allowance!
